Hi Trying to understand why I'm getting length errors Configuration is: - Wired Cbus Network - Wireless Cbus Network - Wireless Relay at Group 103 - C-Bus Diagnostic connected to C-bus RS232 interface - Pronto Remote control sending commands to a Wiser Here's what I get when I set Group 103 OFF using the C-Bus Diagnostic software Sending a Group 103 OFF using C-bus Diagnostic 14:52:46 Tx : \0538000167<CR> 14:52:46 Tx : = Local Network, Multipoint, Lighting, GA 103 Off Using the Pronto Remote Debug Screen it says its sending the following for Group 103 OFF \05380001675B And the C-Bus Diagnostic Shows 14:56:08 Rx : 050238010001675BFD<CR> 14:56:08 Rx : = Network 02, Source Unit 0, Lighting, GA 103 Off; LENGTH ERROR I'm hoping someone can help me understand why I'm getting the length errors. I notice the network has been added to the message sent via the Wiser and what appears to be an additional checksum i.e. FD. What I find is - commands send via the Pronto to devices on the wired network get length errors but do work. That is the device turns on or off - commands send via the Pronto to devices on the wireless network also get length errors but do not work. I wondering if the length error is the key to why it doesn't work ?? Thanks Michael
Just curious, how is the Pronto Remote sending commands to a Wiser? Also, which version of firmware and PICED are you using?
The Pronto is using a Prontoscript module from Quali-fi PICED is 4.7.2 Diagnostic 2.0 Toolkit 1.10.9 Wiser 3.9.0 and I downloaded the firmware upgrade release last week
Thanks. I'm not familiar with the Quali-fi module. Based on your post, I assume it uses the Wiser as a CNI. If so, it is the Quali-fi module that constructs the string that is written to C-Bus and thus would be the area to debug for the invalid checksum. By the way, I'm sure you already know that using a Wiser as a CNI defeats the purpose of having a Wiser as a multi-point tool. That is, while your Pronto is using the Wiser as a CNI, the Wiser won't be able to have a working Adobe UI or any other UI (iphone/media center) for that matter.
