The Qualify Pronto CBUS module should be readily available through the Qualify dealer network (i.e. from the dealer who sold you the Pronto). Alternatively it should be available through Pronto installers after they complete a provenance check on the hardware it is to be installed on (i.e. serial number check with Qualify).

The whole prontoscript module for CBUS thing has seemingly gone cold recently, both here and at remotecentral. I heard that it was with the CBUS-enabled people for testing, and also heard that it wasn't.

I am accredited Pronto Level 2 installer but I haven't seen the Qualify CBUS module yet, nor do I expect to see it because I don't have any business relationship with Qualify. I have heard indifferent reports about it, but as I said I don't have any first hand experience with it. All I'm achieving with Pronto and CBUS is sending commands from the panel via the extender to a PCI to control CBUS lighting address groups. I would like to have simple bi-direction capability, and that is on my long list of things to work out. Obviously prontoscript is required to do this.

As for thermostat integration, if it's not in the module now I imagine it should be straight forward to add this capability. However, I think the new update of PEP2 has the capability to prevent reading prontoscript code in xcf files. So if the installer has enabled this feature on a panel with the Qualify module, you won't be able to crack the code to mod the scripting. Anyway, I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Also Qualify just do not respond to any international enquiries.. :-( At one stage it was mentioned they were submitting their module to the 'powers that be' for international availability but then it all went quiet.

Not having this module generally available hurts the integration possibilities of C-Bus I feel.

I heard the stories about it being submitted for C-Bus Enabled testing as well - so I checked and apparently its not really been sent in. Or some such. It seemed a bit vague and last I heard there is nothing going on there.

If I remember, I'll check again tomorrow.

it works very fine, actually. it should be available everywhere, for sure.
after i showed it to people from Philips - they invited us o give them some c-bus for their booth. and advertised Clipsal as a partner in there.

What exactly works fine, the Qualify CBUS module? If so I would be most surprised if it became available everywhere, unless of course there was an end user licence fee involved. I suspect their purpose in writing the CBUS module was to sell more Pronto gear, rather than to sell the module to owners with Pronto gear bought outside their dealer network. But if Philips are interested in it, let's hope it makes its way into the Pronto professionals prontoscript download area, and with a CBUS-enabled tick!

How does it communicate with CBUS, TCP/IP over C-Gate or CNI, or via RS232 over PCI?

I'm to understand that Control Gadgets had started work on a CBUS module for Pronto, however they lost interest due to lack of demand. Perhaps if we can bombard them with emails it might prompt them to look at it again?

Wherever it does come from, to see it come with the tick would be most welcome.

Presumably then it can also be configured to communicate with CBUS through C-Gate? In either case I guess that means the 5500PC I bought for Pronto to talk to CBUS would be up for sale :(

Edit: Done more homework, needs one CNI per Pronto connected to the Pronto WAP/router on a single network.

There is a free prontoscript module for the Comfort system (a CBus-enabled product) which allows two way control of C-Bus as well as other lighting systems.
It enabled Pronto to control Cbus devices as well as displaying status
It requires the Comfort CP9000 controller and the UCM/CBus interface. See pictures and download link at http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1490&forum_id=50

I wrote a prontoscript module for controlling C-bus lighting via C-Gate (running on a PC) a few months back. If you how to send/receive messages to C-Gate, you should be able to modify it to whatever else you want to do. Clipsal provide plenty of documentation online about communicating with C-bus networks via C-Gate, and C-Gate is basically free.

It's here is you want a look http://www.rohansplace.com/otherdownloads.htm

For info, the QualiFi script supports lighting on wired CBus but not on wireless CBus. It supports temperature sensors but not thermostats. To do wireless lights and thermostats, therefore, you need to write your own scripts. But that is ok as the CBus documentation sets out all the required message formats for both sending commands and for interpreting feedback.

Actually, if it is working, then I don't know why Qualifi don't just sell it to international integrators. You're right, they're not taking emails on this issue... Until then, do you guys think that 232 control via the PCI is still the best option from say a TSU 9600 with RFX 9600. I've controlled CBUS before in this way from a Vantage master controller - all good, but no feedback...Okay for scenes using the CBUS calc with delays between strings. (or firing GA's at PAC stored scenes!) Anyone tried the iphone app yet?

This is what happens when you drive on the forum half asleep - thanks to the snow in London! Thanks! I had a look at your script - very nice indeed!

Because it does very little, and nothing that you can't code for yourself?! It only supports wired, not wireless. And it only supports lights, not (for example) thermostats.

    Hi Guy
I have used the Pronot script (for over a year.....) on wired & wireless networks... works perfectly :)

And didnt have to modify the original protoscript either...

Have also had it running on Multiple networks.. ( 4 max to date)

Maybe we are talking about different versions of the script. The version of the script that I saw certainly didn't receive (or attempt to receive) any feedback from wireless lights.
