Wondering if someone could advise me if the cgate messages below are pretty much normal or if they are indicative of something I need to chase down?

If I ever bring a new device up and it conflicts toolkit just prompts to unravel and does its magic seemingly fine.

Everything pretty much works as expected but the message that suggests a unit address conflict perplexes me - also the unit -f941-1028-8448-95d8da3e28a2 - seems to repeat over and over - is that a hex representation of a serial number or what exactly is that?

    Would appreciate any suggestions

    Many thanks

I've just copied/pasted some of the cgate messages below. Running version 1.7.1 of Toolkit in case that is important.

    Cheers

These messages are normal.. a left over from a long ago abandoned attempted to make Duplicate Unit Detection faster and more reliable.. there's some messages in CGate that needs to be cleaned up now that that method is no longer used..

    HOWEVER...

The message is a warning that there are unexpected bus messages when interacting with some of your units.

I'd suggest you get the diagnostic software and play with that a bit, see what it shows you.

Seeing one or two of those orphan command reply messages is Ok. Seeing a big burst of them, or seeing them over and over, is indicative of something not quite right.

Seeing a big bunch of orphaned command replies is normal when scanning the network if there are "newish" units present. By "newish" I mean output units with firmware > 1.3.0 and input units > about 1.5.00.

These firmware versions introduced a reply to the CAL reset command which C-Gate sends to every unit when it scans the network. C-Gate hasn't caught up with the firmware though and doesn't expect the reply, hence the messages.

As Dunc said, in this case they're pretty harmless, but as Asleigh says... if you see them over and over or at other times it's probably a sign something is amiss with your network.

Sounds like you guys might be a bit hesitant to dig around in the bowels of C-Gate, to clean things up. Is C-Gate that scary a beast ??? ;)
