Is there a method for reading externally generated data (not gathered by C-Bus interface Units) into PC based HomeGate and schedule plus applications?

I have an application that uses several power demand meters that transmit data via an RS485 connection. I want to read the data into HomeGate or Schendule Pluss application as "data variables" (in floating point format) for further processing and also to make control decissions to turn on or off certain lighting groups based upon the processing of the data.

The PCI has RS232 and I can use a RS232 to RS485 converter for this - but how do I actually get the data into Homegate or Schedule Plus as variables to process?

I don't think C-gate has this capability to read data from other sources into variables that can be processed by these applications - or does it?

Read the logic help file topic "Serial IO" and "Serial IO Examples" to see how it is possible to read information from a serial (RS232) port.
