    Hi all,

When trying to backup a project I always get this error.

I have a VM running c-gate permanently and attach to it from my desktop running Toolkit.
Further, the VM is running Debian and the local system can either a Windows XP VM or Toolkit running under Wine. It doesn't matter which.

If I use the Windows VM to launch both toolkit and c-gate and attach locally to that, I can then save the project.
So it is either cause c-gate is remote or cause it is running on Linux and/or remote.

PS just tried running c-gate local and Toolkit local on my Desktop (PClinuxos) and I get an error about a file not existing when trying to backup the project.

Anybody knowledgeable in this area could you provide any tips?
    Thanks

    Suggestion

Can you try installing toolkit locally on the VM, would suggest doing this in the windows environment. Then remote desktop in and back up the toolkit locally on the CGate host PC.
This would rule out whether it is an issue with running toolkit and cgate on different machines.
Maybe you can run an instance of toolkit on the cgate host pc just for doing backups and then email or remote desktop copy the file back to your local PC?

    Lost me a little there.
The VM is a Debian 5 setup without a GUI environment at all. I could I suppose install something light like XFCE4 or such. I did run both C-Gate and Toolkit on the XP VM and it managed to backup the file OK.

The more I look at it, I think the saving of a backup is just exporting to you, through Toolkit the project XML file found in:
    Clipsal/C-Gate2/tag/

If that is the case, then I can add all files in the tag directory into a backup routine on the C-Gate server/VM I am running.
