I finished a project in 2000 and I want to remove Minder (v2) from the network and replace it with something more modern and simpler.

My client enjoys making his own improvement to the coding and would like to have a say in some of the automation macro functions for Minder type logic.

Now that everyone is using XP there is a problem in keeping the old system active with Win98.

The plan is to remove the older components and make a fresh installation with the replacement system.

I am interested in the PAC module and would like to know if there are more components needed or if I am totally wrong.

The "away from home" function is not required if that mode is not available in PAC. So far this is my shopping list according to what I have been looking at.

    1 x PAC module
1 x 4 channel input (relay detection from alarm panel)
    1 x Ethernet interface module

Would anyone like to add to this ?

    Hi Grant,

Thanks for the advice. I dont need the alarm function at all but I was hoping that the PAC would work on its own.

Does PAC only operate in conjunction with something else or can I run PAC on its own ?

PAC works fine just by itself. You can install the PICED software to get an idea of what you can do with the PAC.

I appreciate all of the good advice.

I will install the modules listed above and then look for a larger touch screen to interface with all those functions.

    :)
