I have to replace a colour touch screen which is physically damaged, although still working. I assume I will need the IP address of the screen in order to look at how it is currently programmed, so that I can replicate this on the new screen. How do I find this address?

Also, I have been told that it is possible to download the configuration file from the old screen, and upload it to the new screen, which will save a great deal of time. How do I do this?

Any answers to the above, or suggestions on the way forward, will be most gratefully received.

1st wen the unit boots up the properties window appears and you can find network setup there.

ideally if this unit currently sit on the data network, your C-Touch transfer program (that comes with the PICED Software) should be able to pick it up, only if it's set to DHCP.

Alternatively you can disconnect it from your data network and run the transfer tool.

So if I power off the touch screen, by disconnecting it from the C-bus network, then reconnect it, will the current configuration details be displayed on the screen?

I am unsure of the IP configuration, but I wouldn't have thought that it would be set to DHCP, as I can't think of anything that would give out dynamic IP addresses. If it was a static IP address, would this be displayed when I with the configuration details mentioned above?

It sounds like it might be better to completely disconnect the touchscreen, then run the transfer tool you mention. I assume this is the transfer facility that I would normally use to upload new pages to the screen, but the opposite direction, - is this correct? Will my PC running PICED automatically see the touchscreen, and give me the option to upload the data?

    Thanks

negative, I ment disconnecting or rebooting from actual power supply.

The Transfer Utility is the same App that SEnds and Downloads from the Panel
just find it in The start menu under clipsal\PICED; wen that loads the wizard can setup a new default ip for your screen
