Saturn back box Aus style model 1571

    Can someone please tell me the depth of the metal or plastic flush mount Saturn back box for the rectangular switch?

    Also, is there any benefit of plastic vs metal for the back boxes, both similar prices.

    I found some dimensions, 94x54x43mm. 43mm seems pretty deep, can the box be cut down so its not so deep or is the depth required for the wiring?

    In Aus most of our walls are cavity so we generally use thin mounting brackets rather than boxes.
