    Hi all,
Just wondering has anyone experienced Toolkit 1.4.0 not been able to save to the Database but still saves to the network withsaturn switches. All serial and unit address's match up but, there is an error everytime i want to update the database.

Any idea's to solve this would be great
    Thanks

    Hey Luke,

I just sent an email off to Tech Support as I am getting the same problem with 19 NEOs. When I make a change to the KI and save the changes I am told that the changes can not be saved to the database but still changes the network KI. I also find that when I try to transfer the unit from network to database I get a transfer failure (as well as an error message).

When I am off the network, I find that I can not open the KI to modify.. Are you experiencing the same set of errors ?

    Regards

    Hi Jes,
Yup i have exactly the same problem, but with the Saturn Switches just the 2and 4 gangs, ive spoken to Tech support and they suggested, just deleting them out of the Data base and rescaning the network, which i tried but still the same issue.

Ill keep you posted for a result from tech support.
    Cheers
    Luke

    Couple of questions :

    - What sequence of Toolkit versions have you had installed in the past? eg. did you go from 1.1.6 to 1.2.1 to 1.3.2 to 1.4.0, or some other sequence?

    - What version of toolkit was the database *first* created in?

    - If you had earlier Toolkits, were you prompted to upgrade your database when you installed Toolkit 1.3.x or 1.4.x?

    - Have you ever restored your database from a backup?

Ok, so that's four questions :)

    Hi Daniel,

This project was created on Wednsday Morning, using Toolkit 1.4.0, so there isnt a problem with previous versions of it.

Toolkit has been updated just like normal, when its relased, i update my current version.

and the project has been backed up once so i could send it to CIS.
i havent heard back from Tech support yet, when i do i post some result for you all
    Cheers
    Luke.

    Problem Found

    Hi guys,

Thanks for all your reports and information, we've now been able to reproduce the problem here.

It occurs when you have a Neo, Saturn or Reflection 1.6.00 on your network, and a Neo 1.4.00, Saturn 1.5.00 or Reflection 1.4.00 in your database. The network unit contains your "desired" programming. Doing a transfer from network->database fails in Toolkit 1.4.x, leaving the database unit corrupted - i.e. marked as version 1.6.00 but actually having 1.4.00/1.5.00 parameters. Subsequently attempting to load or save the database unit results in an 'ECGateUnitParameterRangeError' exception or other error.

The "failure during transfer" bug has been fixed for a future Toolkit release.

In the meantime, there are two different workarounds to this problem. The first is preventative, the second is a cure.

    1. When adding the unit to the database in the first place, in the Add Unit dialog make sure you select the correct version for the unit (1.6.00). The subsequent transfer will then work.

    2. In the Units view, delete the corrupted database unit. Select the equivalent network unit, and click the button "Add Unit to DB". This achieves the same end result as a transfer.

    Hope this helps!

    Daniel
