    Hi,

We have a client that requires one button on the monochrome touch screen to switch a scene "on" & "off", as well as ramp all these groups up & down when holding the button down, like the scene modify function on the DLT's.

The "on" & "off" part is straight-forward using triggers, but the dimming part doesn't want to work. Any ideas please?

    Thanks guys

    C-Touch Scene Modify

    Hi Brodsky,

PICED/C-Touch allow you to do all sorts of nefarious stuff with scenes that normal key units don't, as long as the scenes are stored locally...

Just create a button in PICED, go to the C-Bus tab, select Dimmer for the Key Function, then the scene for the Controlled Item. Set your ramp rate and you're done!

This will work as a toggle dimmer for the scene. Short presses toggle it on/off, long presses ramp up/down.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Tested it & that part works great when all your circuits are at the same level in a scene, but it doesn't seem to want to work when you set the different circuits to different levels, and then use these levels as your reference point from where they ramp up/down & still maintain these ratios as they were set?

    Suggestions?

    Many thanks,
    Brodsky;)

    Hi,

As you ramp the scene, groups that hit 0 or 100% will stop ramping, so their offsets from other groups will be changed. This is a fact of life unfortunately, once you've hit the limits you will need to re-set the scene to get the offsets back...

All i can suggest is you make sure you think about the "Nudge / Ramp only On Groups in Scenes" option in the Project Details. It needs to be disabled if you want groups that are Off to ramp with the rest of the scene.

    Cheers,
    Mark

    Hi,

I've done the scenes as suggested with the dimmer button switching/dimming the desired scene.

I noticed that there is always 1 GA (which forms part of the scene) that is followed by the scene button (if this GA changes state, so does the scene button's indicator). As mentioned this only applies to the button's indication and not the function (scene is not switched, although the indicator shows it to be on/off). There is no triggers used and everything is on Lighting application.

This happens with more than one scene, and when I've changed the specific GA to someting else, it seized to happen for a while, but eventually it started doing that again.

Is this the way it's suppose to be or ???

    Thanks,
    Brodsky

If you use a component to adjust a Scene, then its status is taken from the status of the first group in the Scene which is being controlled.

It is best when using components to adjust a Scene to change the status to show when the component is being pressed. This is usually more intuitive.
