schedules not consistently working

    Hi there forum,


    My question is in regards to a rather large site we look after. it has a main computer which contains schedule plus. According to schedule plus the schedules and scenes are running as per expected on their end. the touchscreens throughout the networks have had there network date and time corrected and also re adjusted the correct date and time for the CNI's at each beginning of each network.

    one of the networks has issues with scenes not working i.e. the office area lights are due to turn on a 6am however when maintenance staff arrive the scene hasn't been executed and they have to manually use the push button switches to turn them on. then the blinds are due to roll down at 3pm to prevent glare and it doesn't happen either.

    We have shutdown toolkit, schedule plus and restarted it and it seemed to begin normal operations for a period of a week and then the schedules have been amiss ever since. We are going back tomorrow to begin diagnostic reliability testing to see if there is any potential issues with hardware but I'm not convinced its a hardware issue more a software glitch.

    does anyone out in the broader community have any additional insight into this issue or possibility of experienced it within any of their installs?

    the cbus networks as a whole have sufficient voltage and don't have huge amounts of units on their networks and commands can be sent across the bridges fine with push button switches and executing commands from a touchscreen even from another network, it seems to be schedule plus is having issues executing its scenes at the right time.

    I might just use this post, out of interest have you looked at the logs from Schedule Plus at the times the schedules are supposed to be running? I have a number of ideas as have done a number of large sites with SP+, also how many networks in total are you running and are they all bridges or a mix of bridges and CNIs?

    thats what we are planning on doing in a couple of days being there at the time the schedule should be beginning to execute. in total there is 48 networks spread across multiple buildings. there is bridges between each network and in each building there is a fibre backbone network which loops between every building and the CNI's are on that network ie building j has 2 networks the backbone network with the cni on it and then the j block network which has all the units in the factory on it.

    Hi Myles,
    Does your setup include a colour touch screen? if so it may be the cause, it uses a cmos battery to hold the correct time/date. If the power is cycled it can reset to its default and cause scenes to not work, it can also broadcast its time/date to the rest of the network, resetting them all. I do the repairs to all of the 5080CTC colour touch screens and have my own test environment, sometimes a customers unit can reset my network time/date after changing tha cmos battery and not updating the time/date fast enough the reset time/date will be broadcast.     there is multiple colour touchscreens on different networks in most of the admin buildings, I had previously changed the date and time of them but I am returning tomorrow to begin fault finding again. I will start with that and if I find one with an out of time and date sync I might disconnect it off the network to see if it resolves the problem.
