    Hey all.

I need about 10 screes to replace damaged screws in a din rail relay. I can't find any locally in the hardware stores.

Is it possible to buy these as a part from Clipsal and if so is there a part number I can use?

    Much appreciated

    Mick

    Bump

Can I assume that no one has ever had to replace a dropped/lost screw and that these are not available?

Yeah, the screws in the terminal block for the loads that are being switched by the relays

Modern relay? With green terminal block?

If its a modern relay I think they are an M3 screw, not sure of the length though. The screws are an integral part of the terminal and supplied by the maker of the terminal blocks, so you won't find a part number for them anywhere.

If its an older one with the brown terminal block, then it was a custom made screw.

Very different beast. And wrong spacing, so probably also wrong screw size.

Jaycar should have something like that.

    was just an example :)

I didn't have a dimmer on hand to compare. I just remember they are green inside.

and as Roosta mentioned, Jaycar might have something. if possible, take the dimmer unit with you

    Hi Mick
As Ashleigh points out, if they are the current ones, they are part of a std PCB mount terminal block. You could buy a similar PCB mount terminal block from Jaycar or look to scavenge some from similar parts of a dead or donor electrical item?
Longer shot would be to see if your friendly Clipsal rep could get you them as spares, they used to do such things. But as it's all made in china and as far as I know the repair dept is gone, even if you had a rep willing to help they simply may not have access to them.
I had some damaged C-Bus relay's & dimmers that I sold on E-bay for parts or repair when cleaning out the shed.

    Hope those ideas help,
