I noticed that the current Security Application only reports up to 80 zones.

Are there plans to increase this limit? Minder Pro (Comfort) is in the process of changing their 64 zone limit to 96. I don't know what the other manufacturers are doing but I am sure +64 zone panels will become more popular for larger installations.

    Thanks,
    Ingo

    That's not nice.

In short, if my customer asks me if Clipsal can support 80+ zones and I give him your answer then he might also reply 'No' to your product.

Well.. he did actually answer your question.. albeit maybe not with the answer you were looking for.

In the "Similar Threads" section below, I see the same question was asked some time ago, and answered in slightly more detail in this thread.

Any changes to published protocols are difficult.. they need to be carefully considered (for future needs but more importantly for backwards compatibility with ALL products that use them), then implemented, then tested. This also takes one or more people on the development team away from developing new product.

If you have a good business case to put forward as a reason for us doing this, then I suggest you contact the C-Bus Enabled Program Manager to discuss this.

    Nick,

I appreciate your explanation, just saying 'No' could be perceived as just plain rude. That now being behind us, I am just the Integrator, my customers are the ones installing more and more zones and for me to justify why they have to go with Clipsal is just as easy/difficult as the product itself makes it.

I will leave this to be negotiated by the actual Security vendors. The ultimate choice lies with the customer, I can only advise on product features and limitations.

    Regards,
    Ingo

Ah - just found that thread is for C-Bus Enabled members.

Never mind, it said much the same as the comments above anyhow.
