    Hi,

I am trying to get a front porch sensor working, it is a 5753L. I have quite a few of these throughout the house working fine, I have swapped this one out today with the same issue. Below is what I am getting. I can open the device to edit it, I can turn the porch light on and off through it. The error comes up when I try and add it to the network. Looking at the 'Units on Network in the toolbox bottom pane, it is there with no errors, bottom image.

If you have a flaky network lighting commands can often get through because they are short and have multiple retries. Toolkit commands on the other hand are much longer and hence show up network problems. If you have swapped the unit for a new one with the same result, you either have a wiring problem or potentially another faulty unit upsetting the bus or a power supply problem. As always, the diagnostic utility is your friend here. It can stress the network and highlight any problems.

    Thanks Ashley, appreciate the reply.

I have run the diagnostics and can see voltage. The unit may also be faulty so I will see if I can swap it out with a known good unit. I did buy a lot of these second hand so possibly they had issues. I did however notice this morning that two separate sensors are now turning the porch light on! One of them (toilet) now will not turn the toilet light on, but is sensing. I will disable the sensor this afternoon to see if the other two work correctly.

    OK update.....
I had changed the toilet sensor to say 'Porch'! A slip up there. So the front Porch sensor must not be getting power, time to get the ladder and mutlimeter out!
