I have a pantry (and a couple of other small store rooms) where I intend putting in a flush mount sensor to automate lighting. Unfortunately if it is placed in the middle of the room it will possibly pick up movement as someone walks past the doorway (even with the filter to reduce the field of view).

Apart from making sure the door is always shut(!) is there any reason not to locate the sensor just inside the door of the room in the ceiling so that the sensor pickup on the doorway side is blocked by the wall area above the door entrance, allowing only the area inside the room to be 'sensed'?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Put it off to one side so it picks up better as you cross its sensed "sectors". You can put it near the entrance door and it should be fine. The sensors also come with a plastic cut out cover that you can use to bock off certain areas of its range.

    Suitable sensor

    Hi Abj
As Amberelectrics says, put it to one side, I usually go opposite the door hinges. Have a look at the instructions, it'll show you the "sensor sectors" and how they work. In any case in a small area such as a pantry where you have such a close proximity, it'll work fine.

just be careful, as the detection zone is also straight down, on the roof mount unit....

Thanks for all the feedback. Should be ok with the positions I've now selected now.
