    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone out there can help me. I have put some Cbus PIRS into my house but now when I have a light switched on with the switch and walk past the PIR, when the set time on the PIR has expired it turns the light off.

How do i make the PIR return the lighting level to the original setting before it was triggered? EG if its triggered when the light is off it returns the light to off but if it is triggered when the light is on it finishes with the light staying on! (unless turned off at the switch before the sensor turns the light off)

    Thanks all for your help.

It sounds like what you are after is a 'greater of' combination of two group levels. If you control one group level with the switch, and a second group level with the PIR sensor, then you can combine them in a dimmer controlling the light.

With logic in the dimmer, you can set up the switch to control the level as desired, completely independent of the PIR level. If you want the switch to turn OFF the light before the PIR timer has expired as well, you will need to configure a second, new group to be controlled by the same switch (use the blocks tab to do this by selecting two blocks for the same switch).

Likewise, you can configure the PIR sensor normally, or if you want a different level when the PIR is active, you can use recall1 or recall2 instead of Onkey for the short press key function. The timer expiry of the PIR can be set to Offkey (or Rampoff if you prefer a soft drop in light level). Change the programming in the PIR so that it controls the new group.

The dimmer will need two groups to control the same light. In your case, you can leave the switch control in the dimmer, and add the same new group you assigned to the PIR (and switch, if you wanted that) as a logic group in the logic tab and select MAX for the logical combination.

This should do what you are expecting.

This configuration requires you to remember to turn off the switched group if the PIR never sees motion (or you could use a long timer in the switch to ensure that the light doesn't get left on for a long time).
