I managed to get serverX to run on Windows Home Server which is basically a hack of Microsoft server 2003.

I dont think there is a huge difference between Small business server and Server 2003.

The only issue I ran into is setting up cgate and serverX to run as services. Ill dig the info out on how best to do that for you later today.

You would need to configure ServerX to use different ports. I *assume* that is possible, but have never looked into it.

There are plans to address the C-Gate as a service within 2-3 months (no promises regarding deliverables etc...).

In the meantime there are various Java Service wrappers out there, some forum users have had success with. I have used earlier version of http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/doc/english/download.jsp with great success.

    ServerX listens on port 8080.

Once installed you can browse to the Admin section and change the port to whatever you want.

SBS listens on port 80(http) and port 443(https) so long as you havn't changed any of the defaults.

I was able to get cgate to operate as a service using tools from the Windows Server 2k3 resource kit. Its painfully verbose and while it works there are still issues.
I was unable to get serverX running as a service but I dont use it so that wasnt an issue for me. I might give that wrapper a go.

ServerX has a built in option to set it to run as a service.
Go to your <ServerX folder>/service/ in there you will find 2 batch files. One will install serverX as a service, the other will remove it.

    Regards,

Doesn't the sbs Proxy listen internally on port 8080 ? will this cause conflict, also does servx relay just the home gate window or the whole desktop ?

If their is a port conflict I'm sure it is configurable in at least on eof the programs if not both. ServerX only relays the HomeGate window.
