    Hi,

I've got a system with Toolkit 1.3.2 (build 207) and C-Gate v2.5.8 (build 2108). These are the latest available for download.

I bought a copy of Homegate. The version on the CD, I received) is 3.1.

I upgrade (via downloads) to 3.4.1.

Toolkit, C-Gate and Homegate all works fine.

When I try and install ServerX (v0.55b), the window that asks for the installation location just hangs and eventually I need to kill the process. I've got the right SDK installed.

I've left this window for a few hours, but it never comes back.

    Any ideas?

    Jannie,

Have you searched this forum for this problem?

It has been covered many, many times before.

As Ross would say - "The search function is your friend".

This might help you out -

    Fix for ServerX Install

    1. Uninstall toolkit, schedule plus and every version of java that shows
up in the 'add/remove programs' (in the control panel). (You don't need to uninstall Homegate or any saved settings by the way)

    2. Install C-Gate V1.5

    3. Install ServerX

    4. Uninstall C-Gate V1.5

    5. Install the latest Toolkit and Schedule Plus

I actually have searched but must say missed it somehow then. I'll search again, but if you have a link to the relevant thread, would be appreciated.

    Thanks PSC,

Have found the thread with the uninstall / reinstall solution but must say
i'm not very happy with this.

Just finished building a new clean system with the latest versions of everything. I'm not going to mess this system up now. You know how well Windows take to multiple remove / install cycles.

Clipsal should take ownership for their products and not hide behind "It's not an Oz product". We have same problem with Minder Pro (OEM'ed Comfort). And CBTI. All these products were sold to me by Clipsal and thus they must support them.

Secondly, this forum should become an official support structure.

I happen to be the official representative for a large company on another 'open' forum and it works extremely well to give support this way.

If I pass this install problem via the local channel (SA), all I'm going to get is a blank stare....yet it would take a quick answer by an official rep. to sort this.
