There has to be a quicker way
I am programming up cartoons of DLTs, 1 at time ready for installation, so I wire up the DLT and download the configuration that includes the DLT text.

Now it does not display on the unit, so have to go to the Toolkit DLT Labels part and open, half an hour later (almost) all loaded, press the ?Set Default? button wait a bit longer and bingo DLT text displays.

Why can not the default DLT text language be set when the unit is configured??

    tks

    Hi Dave,

I've just saved Danish and English labels to the KEYBL5 unit, left Danish as the default language, disconnected and reconnected the unit and found Danish labels were on as expected. Then I set English as the default language, again disconnected and reconnected the unit and now English labels were on. Language settings in DLT work just as expected.

Could it be that during programming you had the default language other than English but had only English labels programmed? If that was the case then the scenario you described is quite likely.

Also if all you need is change the default language you don't have to open the DLT Labels dialogue which is on the network view. You can open DLT unit GUI in the database, select Global tab and change the default language there. You don't even need to apply changes as this setting is network-wide but was put on the DLT GUI for convenience.

    Regards,
    George

I have a Toolkit database with all the DLTs configured and the DLT Text as English Australian and it set as the default language in Toolkit.
Now I take a NEW DLT and attach to test network and download the configuration into it, but the DLT text does not show.

To fix I have been going to the DLT Labels area in Toolkit and click the "Set Default" button and bingo the DLT Text in the unit know displays.

    Default Language

    Hi,

The default language of DLTs is English, so they won't show your English, Australian labels until they receive a command setting language to English, Australian.

    There are two solutions here:
    1. Toolkit could send the Set Language command automatically when downloading labels to a unit. This would be ok in most cases, but may cause issues if the language has been changed from somewhere else (e.g. a touchscreen) as TK will not know the most recent language.

    2. Just use "English" rather than "English, Australian" for your projects.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark

    Option 2 is Un-Australian.

Guess I will just have to put up with the current setup.

    Next:
What about adding Set "Fail Safe" Time for shutters in the Globals, takes a long time to change from the 30secs to say 44 secs in 100 shutters ?
