Shutter Controller

Maybe the first technical question about this unit..
I have installed the unit and everything cbus side is good. However, in connecting up a somfy motor (4 wires - 2 live (up/down) 1 neutral and 1 earth the down control is kicking out a RCD and the up control does nothing. I note on the manual (on the circuit diagram) that the common (neutral) is switched - I guess this controls the stop function. Could this be messing with the RCD? Not sure where to go from here? Motor is testing as good, unit is testing as good, connections made as per installation manual. Any thoughts?

 

Sounds like a wiring issue to me. RCD's only trip when the current flow is different in the active and neutral (the difference in current is deemed to be going to earth). Check the wiring and make sure you haven't transposed the earth. If wiring is ok, check the motor for a short to earth (less likely, knowing Somfy quality).

 

Silly question but i take it that your using the same nuetrals and earths

 

Short in the motor. Rewired orginal controller and same behaviour results. Problem identified but not fixed (yet). Anyone know where to get somfy parts (this one would be out of warranty).
