I have seen on the relay that the internal contacts are rated for 2Amp for motors. I am assuming that takes into account the starting current. So my question is if i use these realys a single channel relay for lighting what is the total rating of the contacts at 230V. ie is it something like 8 amps.

I think you will find it impossible to use the Shutter Relay for general lighting. The Failsafe timer cannot be disabled so the longest you will be able to keep the relay switched on will be 4 minutes and 15 seconds. I find most people get annoyed when their lights turn off automatically this long after being turned on ;).

I will second that. I was hoping that with the shutter relay we had a nice simple DIN rail mounted relay module.
The current 1 and 2 channel units are nothing to be proud of !!

Could there just be a simple firmware update that could be introduced that can disable this inbuilt failsafe timer.
