We have a client whom requires a Siemens BMCS interface and im not sure if it is supported by CIS. They managed to get the PCI to control the cbus lighting but it was very slow and slowed the network down enough to miss several PACA messages. The Client wants to log the C-Bus PIRs to a excel spreadsheet and from there the Siemens BMCS can log whether the room is occupied. Does anyone know if this is possible or have done this before with Siemens.
PS Where are you Phil Hodge? give me a call if you can.

    Logging

    Nathan,

If your client just wants to log when a room is occupied you could try running HomeGate / Schedule Plus and use logic to write to a text file. Of course if the BMS is doing more this won't help too much...

    Hi Nathan

Are they using Siemens EIB as the BMS?

    C-bus to Lon protocol gateway

I think that the protocol gateway is the answer to your problem.
You need a C-bus to Lon protocol gateway and I am sure that our Malaysian friends have one.;)

Careful.. a couple of beers and he's rolling around on the floor.. just buy him Light Beers..

Talking of Light Beers.. on a recent trip the USA I had a 2.5 hour stop-over at LAX and took the opportunity to have a few beers.. I stuck to light beer and over the course of about 2 hrs I had about 8 quite large glasses of light beer.. Over a pint each I'm sure.. I felt strangely drunk for some reason and asked the bartender if they were really Light Beers I was getting.. he looked a bit bemused and assured me they were..

I boarded my flight feeling even more pissed and spent a really bad 1.5hrs to Las Vegas feeling certain I was going to throw up.. my head was spinning the whole way..

Well.. it turns out in the States that "Light Beer" is just low in carbohydrates, not low in alcohol.. so I'd had 8 full strength beers.. and mostly on an empty stomach too..

Well you were in LA Duncan, have you ever known the general population of Los Angeles to skimp on alcohol content? :p (I wn't even bother making a comment about carbohydrates in LA...)
