    Hey

does the 5034NIRT come with the IR leads?
What is the point of the double head IR leads? Does that mean you can control four devices from the one faceplate ?
Finally what is the range of the IR transmitter?

    Simple answers:

No you need to purchase seperately IIRC..
Technically yes provide none of the IR codes conflict..
In my experience about 5cm but never really had the need to go further than this so longer distance may be possible..

    Cheers..

    Hi Trucker01,

Couldn't find the triples at Jaycar?, could only find duals and singles. Do you have the model number?

At any rate, the main factor is the need to match the specs between the output and the device. The NIRT output to the 1/8" jack is 5v (max) and 20ma maximum current output. The triple lead specs would need to show it draws less than 20ma current and runs on 5v or less.

Another factor to check with the IR emitters depends on your configuration. If you are putting something into an audio cabinet for example this isn't so much of an issue, but if you are controlling equipment that you still want to control with the original remote control as well, you need to ensure that the IR LEDs are also fully transparent to IR light so as the emitter doesn't block the equipment's IR receiver. Some are made for exclusive control of a device (with hoods or black backing etc) and some are made for shared device control and these usually have clear red or white plastic heads.

    All the best,

    Brad
