    Hi,

I am just about to write my own Databindings for the various C-Bus XML files (i.e. Config, HomeGate Project etc) and was wondering if there was any source code (Delphi of course!) readily available?:)

Also, do you use the native TXMLDocument as I intend writing back to the database and would rather use the same controls to avoid any potential issues?

    Cheers
    Greg,,,

    Hi Greg,

We do not use the TXMLDocument class in Delphi and the source code is not available. Please be aware that the schema for these XML documents is not published and subject to change. Currently we only offer limited support for people to READ these files and recommend not modifying them directly. It is very easy to have unintended consequences by directly modifying these files.

Modifying the XML C-Bus Project files or the HomeGate/Schedule Plus/PICED Project files using anything other than the intended CIS software will void any warrantee and/or technical support for those files. The format of the CIS files will change without notice.

Point taken, one way it is....
(is this still a restriction if CBus Enabled?)

Is there any "politically correct" method to dynamically liase with the database i.e. SOAP / WSDL or is this purposely blocked given the concequences?

    Cheers
    Greg...

    No

For the main project (C-Gate) there is the C-gate telnet interface for modifying things (Applications, Groups, levels, etc...). There is no supported method for altering other CIS files.
