Patricia has been banned now and all the Private Messages she sent have been deleted.

Unfortunately this forum now gets about 20 - 40 new spammers signing up each day.

Each new signup now goes through a HUMAN to vet them before being admitted. Unfortunately there is not a lot to go on so when in doubt, the humans let the slightly iffy ones through.

If you get spammed by PM please post (this thread will be fine) and include the name of the spammer. It will be investigated and if needed, the spammer will be banned or removed.

    Thanks
(on behalf of the various people who spend their evenings cleaning up after the spammers)

Ah, that explains that then, got a notify for a message from Patricia, went to have a look and no messages.

Just a heads up. I personally never use the links in the email to jump straight in to a login page. I always go to a link I have bookmarked which I know can be trusted, this way you dont end up whacking your details into a spoof page. Maybe not so vital for a forum such as this, but it would be annoying to have to re register etc.

    Cheers

    Simon

The same happened to me like amberelectrics.
I first thought there is a system fault by having the mail deleted by accident
But then I luckily searched and came to this forum :D
    A suggestion:
some sort of hint or junk mail folder to at least indicate where the mail went if it is no longer there. Others might just think there is a problem with the system if there is no such feature ...
But good to know the forum is kept clean of such characters :)
Now I will worry no more if a message went missing

As for the human verification: The problem is in some cheap labour countries they actually HAVE humans sitting there doing the sign-up.... very bad
