Are you guys planning to have TCP/IP support in the future, as it would be very helpful to us. In particular we are having problems synching button presses and the like accross multiple screens, as it seems the CTS's are too slow to react to group changes on the Cbus network.

Firstly - the CTC should not be too slow to respond to (and update) for button presses over cbus. It should be instantaneous, and if it is not I suggest you do the obvious checks (ie electrical) on the bus. Also check you logic code to see if there are things in there which are slow....

Secondly - we are considering opening up some ports in the Firewall, so you can use them from Logic.

At this stage we are thinking of the block 19900 to 19999 (100 ports).

    All others would remain blocked...

    Your feelings?

Don't know myself, Ashleigh may be able to clarrify. But I will say that it can be hard for Engineering to know when something will be released to manufacturing. After we have finished with it, it must go to the Test and Verfication department, then passed to manufacturing engineering who test integrating it into to production and verify all manufacturing process work correctly with the change. The it gets rolled out to production. All subject to the wants and needs of each departments schedule and priorities.

Sometime things happen quickly, sometime not.

Also the development of an in field upgrade process for the new CTC software is a mini project in it's self and will take a reasonable amount of time and a lot of testing!
