How do you use these options - nothing in the help file

    - 0008136: Project Documentation new feature: Analysis reports
    - 0008137: Project Documentation: Generate a report of relationships

were are the USB drivers as per help file

Installing USB PCI driver menu option
The Install USB PCI Driver menu option installs a driver which allows access to a DIN Rail USB PC Interface unit using a USB cable connection.
    Installation instructions
Before you connect the DIN Rail USB PC Interface to the host computer, you must install the USB PCI driver.
Select USB Drivers > Install USB PCI Driver from the File menu. A software installation dialog box appears asking you to continue the installation.

    Toolkit 1.10

    Hi Dave,

Sorry for the lack of a detailed description of all new Toolkit 1.10 features. We will do better next time but for now here are the answers to your questions.

The new Project Documentation (Document Project button on the Project node) features basically mean that each group relations are analysed and you get a summary in what input and output units it is used and by which channels/keys. Also for each unit you get a summary what groups it is using.

USB drivers installation we moved from Toolkit to the Toolkit Installer. That's why you don't see the mentioned USB menu items anymore. The reference of the USB driver menus has been mistakenly left in the help file and will be removed in the next Toolkit release.

More about the USB drivers... We merged the 3 drivers we had before and also the driver for the Pascal Automation Controller unit (PC_PACA) into a single USB driver. This new driver gets installed during the Toolkit installation and appears in the "Add or Remove Programs" list on the Windows Control Panel as "Clipsal C-Bus USB Com Port Device". You can also see it on your hard drive in the directory "C:\Program Files\Clipsal Integrated Systems\Clipsal USB Com Port Driver". Installing the USB driver this way makes it easier to use Clipsal C-Bus USB devices such as USB PCI or B&W C-Touch Mark 2 as the driver installation happens automatically and only once. After this you do not need to worry if a particular C-Bus USB device requires a new USB driver to be installed or not.

If you have any other question regarding Toolkit 1.10, do not hesitate to ask.

    Regards,
    George

This is an addition to the project documentation feature which has been there before.

In this case "by examining the group relations you can see when there are:
Groups with Input and no output/other use.
Groups with Output and no Input. "

This is also in the project documentation generator, it is an extension:

"for each group you can see:

Input - devices that will change this group via key, sensor, or mapping from other systems (DMX, DALI)

Output - C-Bus output devices that have channels using this group including Thermostat relays, or mapping to other systems (DMX, DALI)

Other - Places where this group is used inside units that don't fit above two categories. Examples: Join Mode,Corridor Linking, Thermostat Communication group, All Keys Disable group."

The USB drivers have been revamped. They are now faster, and the driver bundle is simpler. There is now no need to install drivers from inside Toolkit. When you did the TK install, you would have seen a warning and accepted the installation of the USB drivers. Now, thats all you need. The separate install of drivers per-product is no longer required.

Am logging the note in the help files as a defect to be fixed, because it no longer applies.

    CNI Scan

    Hey guys,

have been trying out the latest version of Toolkit and it looks great - especially like the changes to DLT labelling.
Seem to have a problem with 'Scan C-Bus Network Interfaces' though, it doesn't pick up the CNI here at home. The CNI is OK and will connect when you edit the network details.

Everything else so far works well.

    Regards,

    Mark

Works great like Mark love the DLT labelling...what took you guys so long!:D:D:D Well done guys seriously!

Did not experience any issue connecting to my CNI no editing changes required.

Hey Mark no need for further action on the interface....just come for the beer!:)

Can you please use the Lantronix DeviceInstaller program to scan and find your CNI?

Can you then let us know if the DeviceInstaller found the CNI, and if so, what the CNI Ethernet side firmware revision is?

Oh - one more thing - do you have any ethernet switchers or routers between your PC and the CNI?

It was a vast amount of work to do, and slot in amongst all the other vast amounts of work to do. A Certain developer here has been a busy, busy boy. It really does rock now though.

    ashleigh,
    looks good, 2 suggestions;

1: can the name of the documentation file be the project name so I have a seperate html for each project.
2; can the notes field be includes - eg "this unit replaced 1/1/300"

    almost as good as mine.

    Hello Ashleigh.

Lantronix Device Installer finds the CNI and it has ethernet firmware version of 5.20.
As for our setup here - laptop to WAP (D-Link DI-524UP) to CNI. We have had this setup run OK for the last 12 months or so now.

    Regards,

    Mark

Tried some more things. Starting Toolkit, cannot discover CNI until I either ping the CNI or use Device Installer to search for devices on the network. If I do either, the CNI is discoverable via the 'Discover C-Bus Networks' option.

I just installed this new version and I think there is a bug in the installer.

I have toolkit installed under c:\program files and while the installer picks this up, when it gets to installing C-gate, it puts it in c:\program

It would appear that the installer is dropping off everything after the sapce - just like in the good ol' win95 days.

    Toolkit Enhancements

Better documentation of scenes used by DLTs.
Image1 shows how the DLT is configured on buttons 4 - 8

Image 2 toolkit shows "Unused" for the buttons, would be nice if it showed "scene"

Image 3: the documentation knows there scenes in buttons, but nice to have it show the "high, medium, low" some where maybe instead of the "scene1".

    Adding new units.
When adding say 12 units from address 100 up every time you readdress the drop down box starts at zero and then you have to scroll way down.
Can the drop down box remember the last unit number and show unit numbers in that area.

    Thanks Dave.

    Defect IDs: #0015649 and #0015650.

Re issue 2... it is a work in progress already but the fix is not coming soon, not this year at least.

    Hi Mick,

We revamped this part and now Toolkit installer contains the embedded C-Gate installer. This means that after you install TK 1.10 you see in the Add or Remove Programs list a separate entry for C-Gate. Also the change means that when uninstalling Toolkit, C-Gate does not get automatically uninstalled. It is important to have C-Gate server installed separately as Toolkit is not its only client... Somehow a bug crept in during the rework, so the soon coming Toolkit 1.10.1 will have this installer issue addressed.

firstly, i'd like to say well done on the DLT's. the new interface looks great and is MUCH easier to use!

now on to my problem. with previous versions of toolkit i have been able to search through group address listings within the unit GUI's with ease, either using GA numbers or the tags themselves. it appears however in 1.10 that this feature isn't as smooth.

instead of pressing 0-0-1 to get to GA 001, i now have to press 0-0-0-1. I can't even select GA 011 because in order to get that i would have to press 0-0-1-1. but by the second 1, the description is gone and i'm left with just a 1 in the field.

also, i can't type in a full tag name. it only allows 1 character at a time and this gets overwritten with every subsequent letter entered.

it's a lot slower having to select each GA with my mouse, or scroll through with the arrow keys...

is this a known issue? is there anything i can do in the mean time to fix this?

    Hi reece_m,

Yes, group selection in combo box is indeed misbehaving if I use your approach. We will look into this. Expect improvements in the near future. Unfortunately it looks like the workaround is not available apart from using mouse. Sorry about the inconvenience.

    Defect ID: #15688

Great to see that this product is always improving and that you listen to our feedback.

    1. Thankyou thankyou thankyou for fixing the power supply gui :)

    2. Global Programming now closes after making a change. Previously I was able to select all the devices that need a 5 min timeout, make a change, select the next batch for 15 min timeout etc etc. It was slightly annoying before having to click on it multiple times to first change the application, then disable learn mode then a 3rd time to setup all the timers. Now its even more annoying.

    3. Part Name and Tag Name edit without opening the GUI. Can this be added to the program? its really annoying as the way I like to program is to scan in all my devices, setup all the part names, program in the tag names then get into the meat of things by programming the group addresses. It would be nice to be able to change the part name and tag names in an excel style format. Obviously this would only be on the database view and not the network view.

If I find any more I'll let you know.

    Hi filpee,

Thanks for the feedback. I recorded #2 in the defects database. Defect ID #15732. We will also consider the improvement you suggested in paragraph #3 - it makes sense to me to have some sort of quick edit dialog available for units in the DB view.

    Regards,
    George
