Toolkit slowdown - temporary work-around.

Hi,

We've been doing some research into why Toolkit sometimes slows down over the course of a few hours as you use it. Some people have resorted to restarting it every few hours.

The issue appears to be related to the "Application Log".

If this issue is causing you grief and you can live without the Application Log you can disable it from the Preferences screen. Select "Preferences" from underneath the File Menu, uncheck the "Application Log" box under "Network Activity".

My apologies for the inconvenience this must be causing some of you.

We'll get this resolved for the next release.

Slow toolkit

Bad news have turned of the logging and trying to delete groups takes about 35 seconds before toolkit comes back.
see graph, toolkit runs at 99% cpu then drops back to 7 when its finished.
vert bars 5 seconds each.

changed unit groups and toolkit came back straight away seems like just adding and deleting groups.

We have proved intenally and at other sites that the workaround helps.. delays in deleting groups may well be another issue altogether for us to look into.

Does the slow group deletion always happen, or only after Toolkit has been running for a while?

have just gone and changed 50 switchs from on/off to dimmers without restarting toolkit from the above graph time and NO delay at all

now will try adding a group

What a pain in the bum, it would be nice to get Toolkit to the point where those sort of 'batch' operations could be done quickly..

still in same session and added a group "aaa" took 55 seconds at full cpu but and change a switch and comes back straight away.

Nope that gives us enough to go on.. we've obviously nailed half of the issue I suspect we might have nailed the other half of your issue with a change we did yesterday that you cant work around in the field.. I'll confirm it.

just deleted the dummy groups and it did it straight away - must just be adding new groups - getting tight on this one
