I have a couple of questions.

Firstly, I have some of the older style switches which are stainless steel and have the basic dim up/down, on/off settings but no scenes. I have yet to move on to my touch screen programming but am I correct in assuming that I can store scenes in the touch screen and trigger them by these less intelligent switches?

Also I have a galaxy alarm system which has both an ethernet connection and outputs at the panel from its pirs. I would like to use these as occupancy sensors. Can I use the ethernet connection to talk directly to the touch screen to trigger this or am I better just using bus couplers at the panel as direct outputs from the panel. Also to enable me to do this I am guessing that I need to install a cbus light level sensor and use the and or logic to program it correctly am I correct in assuming this?

    Grateful for all replies.

    Yes you can.

If the galaxt panel has an interface to talk to C-Bus direct you will need to use a PCI not an ethernet interface. I would just use the outputs from the alarm into the bus couplers, keeps it nice and simple too!!

Yes thats one way to do it. You might also want to look at having your screen do some of the logic in control when the sensors control the lights. You could even used the sunrise/sunset setting in the screen to control what time they operate. I've found it is more reliable to use the sunrise/sunset time in the screen then a light level sensor.
