Greetings all, I have recently encountered a comms fault that is new to me and am looking for informed input. V3 Colour touch screen loses comms, then intermittently regains Cbus connectivity for a short time. Screen reboot does not clear the fault, yet disconnecting the cat5, reconnecting, then rebooting usually regains comms for 15 or 20 minutes before the problem cycle returns. The system has been in place for nearly 3 years, with a few minor initial issues, mostly user errors..... The system is a single network with aprox 90 unit addresses. It includes two colour touch screens and Multi room audio, shutter controllers and predominantly DLT's for switching. The guys in support have been trying their best with the following actions tried: Physical and software burdens removed. Screen replaced Voltages checked (Avg. 28V) We have disconnected various sections in the field, plus many other bits and pieces, all with no luck. I have patched a DLT into one of the C-bus ports on the screen to see if comms "past" the screen are also lost, but when there is no C-bus connectivity with the screen the DLT still functions normally. Utilising my old bench top CRO the clock pulse appears clean and not compressed, command pulses are visible when loads are switched, and apart from one occassion of apparrent high traffic just before lost comms, there is no obvious noise or strange waveforms on the bus. This is the first problem I haven't been able to overcome with a logical approach and much testing & trial and error in 10 years of C-bus programming, and now it feels personal !! Your input / experiences greatly appreciated.
