All of a sudden, i am unable to transfer projects throught my network. I plug my laptop into a local network to program c-touch as per norm.

Tonight i went to make some alterations, but was unable to transfer the project across. I receive an error "Socket error #10053 software caused connection abort".

I have made no recent changes to my laptop including new software etc or any upgraded c-bus or xp updates before this error arose.

Can someone help me on this please?

Are you connecting to C-Bus through a PCI via a serial port on your laptop, or are you using some other arrangement ?

I have found this occasionally. Generally mine comes up with something like 'connection closed gracefully' :) .

I find that if you re-start the C-Touch, it will be fine.

Ah, you are talking about a colour C-Touch. It saves a lot of confusion if you are specific with details.

The best idea is to re-boot the colour C-Touch as suggested by Nobes and re-start the Colour C-Touch Transfer Utility. This generally fixes the problem.
