I am working on a homegate setup for my home that has a display (bar graph and percentage label) for my rain water tank level. This level is picked up 4-20 ma head pressure sensor connected to a general input unit.

I have configured the general input unit to transmit the level via direct level mode to a group address. When I click display current level on the general input config page it shows the correct percentage level but I cannot get it to work on homegate. I can get the cbus level to dispaly via the system I/O measurement application but not the cbus group level?

Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?

    Thanks in advance.

First thing to do is hook up the C-Bus Diagnostic Utility to the C-Bus network to see what messages are appearing on the bus. If the Group Address messages are there on the bus, but not in homegate, then at least you know which end to go looking.

make sure that the level changes...

i have noticed sometimes that the level is only *transmitted* to the GA & only updated when the input level changes beyond the 'hysteresis' limit.

i hope there is not too much water in your tank to change the level:p

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the replies Gents.

Found that it may be the general input unit itself.
Working through it with a Clipsal rep.

At one stage there was a preferred order of *power up* as well i.e: c-bus before aux power supply or the other way around, you may also want to try that.

    Thanks Grant.

Discovered that I was hysteresis was the problem. Due to me constanlty fiddling with the home gate config it was never online long enough to notice a change and update! Damn OCD! :) Set the hysteresis to 0 and all good. When I connected a couple of other sensors to the general input unit and programmed them, everything settled down and it works how it should now.

    Cheers

might want to set the hysterisis back to say 1% to ensure a change of state before sending c-bus messages, rather than constantly flooding the network with status messages though.

Sorry for the late reply.I have been missing in action for a while.

I am using a Wika LS-10. Very accurate but a little bit pricey.
