Whats the logic process in the unravel ??
Does it change the unit number to a unused unit number from the current network scan or does it lookup the database and the last scan for a spare number.

    Hi Dave,

The unravel changes unit addresses to an unused unit address on the Network.. it doesn't look at the database at all.

Ah thats what giving me the problem.
Got trouble on network so took some units offline that were configured in database and when i unraveled it gave the network units numbers of units already in database then as i put units back online and rescaned came up with duplicates and unraveled.
In the end my nice tidy database had units all over the place.

    Hey Dave,

You do know that Toolkit has some neat functions in-built for aligning DB and Network Addresses? Especially using Serial Numbers..

    Duncan,
Yes, on this job working my way through the error side of toolkit.
Reads wrong serial numbers for units, different serial numbers for same unit on each scan, same serial for multiple units, partial reads and one unit that will not scan. Hence the reason for divividing the network up. Going to be a busy day.
Matching serial numbers and unravel not options till sort it out a bit.

    UPDATE
Found the problem was caused by the lead to pc interface, jumped on it, cut plugs off and put in garbage bin.
    after that all went well.
