    Suggestion
    Can we have a field in the toolkit group data the says something like "display text" see pic.
    What it could then be used for ;
    in ctouch you can already select the groupname as text for a button, but i would now like to do is have a option to link to this new field as text for the button. Now everytime i change the field in toolkit when i start ctouch it will update the text in the buttons to reflect the new data.
    This could also be used with DTL, and Homegate etc

    Hey Dave!

    The next significant release of Toolkit (1.2) will contain a significantly expanded Group Edit Dialog.. predominantly for use with DLT..

    I rather like your idea of putting some 'parameters' in there that would be useful in HomeGate as well!

    I've logged the idea and will discuss with Darren. Thanks!

    Duncan.

    I in proces of doing it at moment works well.
    I have a file of group no and and text for each project, then a program that goes through the ctouch file and updates the text for the buttons.

    Its a bit messey, nice if it was part of the system.

    Actually, the text on the C-Touch buttons would not change automatically. The text would only change if you went in to each button and clicked on the "use control name" button.

    Yes it is *possible*, but not necessarily a good idea. It could get quite chaotic if components suddenly automatically re-sized because the length of a tag increased.

    display tags

    What i have on most homes is 2 or 3 touch screens with about 100 buttons per screen. The users want a consistant look and feel across all screens ie there is a button marked "bed1 wall" does the same thing on all screens. And they often want to change the text during installation which with the current system takes a long time to change 3 screens.
    What i have now is a excel sheet (see attached) with a key, cbus tag, display text (including text wrap).
    Now my system runs through all the touch sources and changes text in buttons to match the excel sheet (provided data in col and few other rules) which takes about 10 seconds for the 3 screens.
    Result. All screens have same text - when making a new screen i only put in text that i do not want replaced - save many hours work. And allows me to work smart and sure i have to do a quick check of button size etc but that nothing compared with the other way (spelling check for each button etc).
