What does command reply ! mean?

    If you only want to broadcast measurement data onto the bus why not just talk to the cbus sim module directly? The measurement app protocol is simple and well documented. The cbus driver seems a bit of an overkill to me. I always found it was more trouble than it was worth :)

    Hmmm... interesting comment.

    I figured the ESP32 has heaps of RAM and can pretty much compile and run the cleanly so I figured I'd just use that and avoid having to learn a new thing.

    Also I will probably end up making a bit of a hybrid device that publishes the temperatures and if that works well for me, I might also do the thermostat control and maybe even drive some LED strips using PWM drivers and listen to Lighting Groups as well...

    Anyway I need to make it go first then make it better...
