    HI All,

I have 2 wireless remote, a wireless 8 way neo and a wireless gateway. Can someone point me to a couple of resources ?

1: All the wireless hardware manuals - I seem to have lost the one I really need - the gateway manual - and having searched the CIS site long and hard can't find it. Then again I can never find anything on that site :)

2: A document / tutorial that explains how to get the remote to trigger a wired group / scene. Is it simply a matter of having the group names the same ? (I doubt it as this does not make sense to me).

So far I have managed to get the neo recognised in toolkit via the gateway learn process. Thats about it.

    Thanks
    Chris

If you set the gateway up so both sides have the option set "forward to adjacent network" (I think thats what its called), and set the group NUMBERS the same on both sides then lighting commands will go between the two networks.

If you want scene triggers to go through you need to make sure you use the same trigger groups and action selectors in both sides, and you will also need to open up the gateway in tooklit and set the second application (on both sides) to Trigger Control ($CA).

That will then forward scene triggers as well. If you do that its probably a good idea to have the scenes in the wired side and only do the trigger from wireless (or vice versa - but don't try and stored lumps of scenes in both sides).

Once you have that working you can link buttons on the remotes to te wireless Neo.

    Hi,

I have done what you suggested but seem to be having issues.

I have set both sides of the gateway as you suggest. I have defined group 19 on both sides for example. On the wired side it turns on/off the light in front of me by right click on group name on/off - all good so far. From toolkit I can happily program my neo wireless dimmer - set and modify buttons etc which suggests to me that my wireless link is ok. If i try and set on/off on the wireless side via toolkit on group 19 nothing happens - should it ? Is there any debugging I can do ?

As far as hardware setup i have simply done thevpress learn on gateway and learn on neo then the 1 button then fast double click.

    Thanks
    Chris

I noticed that although the wired side of the gateway suggests it connects to the wireless side. opening up the wireless side of the gateway does not seem to connect to the wired - is that an issues ? If it is how do I fix it ? It would certainly explain what I'm seeing if messages we not being sent from the wireless side even though both checkboxes are clicked in the gateway settings to pass stuff on.

I think I have solved this and thought I would post in case anyone else makes the same mistake I did. When I set up the wireless network in toolkit for the first time it created a new (wireless) network with ID 33 (odd I thought given my other one was 254) but there you go. Having finally obtained the wireless gateway manual I discovered the 33 was actually matching the address of the wireless gateway on the wired side. Nice of toolkit to sort all this out. What it didn't do automatically, though, was do the same on the wireless side - that is set the address of the wireless gateway on the wireless side to the wired network id (254). Having used toolkit to change this it all started working!!

In summary RTFM and don't asume toolkit will set things up perfectly (don't get me wrong, toolkit is a fantastic piece of kit).

Ah yes, thats to get the unit addresses / network addresses matching.

I forgot about that one :(
