I've just installed our Wiser 2 which i intended to use for occasional programming of the system.

Whatever i do i cannot get it to reliably connect to the CBus network - i've only got 5 units connected for our demo room, and it either times out, show units with no serial numbers or just states unit not responding.

Is there a trick to putting the Wiser 2 into CNI mode ?

Clearly i'm doing something wrong - if i use the PCI thats on the network it works fine.

    Thoughts appreciated :)

Unlike the original Wiser, Wiser2 has 2 C-Bus interfaces, one dedicated to the Wiser2's operational connection, and the other dedicated for a CNI function, so unlike the original, you don't need to put it into CNI mode, and doing so does not take the Wiser2 offline.

The symptoms sound like a typical problem with a small network that needs a burden but doesn't have one, but if it works fine via the PCI then that's probably not the case (unless you are removing the PCI and it is the thing providing the burden). It might also be worth checking that you don't have the burden(s) in the Wiser2 enabled as well (personally I prefer to disable all software burdens and use a hardware one if necessary).
