    Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 55" Samsung Smart LED LCD TV with all the doohickies..

It will happily view my ip cameras, and general websites, but it wont display the wiser GUI..

All I get is a pink page with 401 Authentication required.. So it can see wiser, but does not prompt for login details.. I have had a play with the limited settings to no joy..

    Any ideas at all??

    Cheers..

    Hi Roosta,

Happy to help. Keep that one in your Wiser kit bag as it is also very useful for connecting to some 'simple authentication required' webcams from your Wiser widgets, or from Homegate etc.

    All the best,

    Brad

I know of a fairly high profile project up this way suffering from the same problem. Will pass this info on and let you know the result.

How do you get the display to be full screen automatically when first loading the screen? The projector does it but can you do it from a browser?

I've looked at several smart TV brands and they either don't support multiple web pages to allow you to put in a password or they don't support flash. Smart TVs need to get bit smarter.

    Hello Again,

I have just tried using this trick in another application and it worked a treat, except that the ip cameras no longer come up, where as before they were coming up..

    Cheers..

    Hi Roosta,

How do you mean 'not coming up'? Do you mean on the Samsung or on the Wiser?

I use this URL line authentication to get into my 'simple' authentication system cameras from HomeGate and also Wiser.

Oh Brad.. Be my saviour again will you.. :)

Have run into issue with this lovely project..

Let me give you a run down where it sits currently..

I am hosting a website, on which i have placed a page which I wanted to demonstrate wiser live.. Due to formatting etc, I have opted to host the wiser gui inside a html window on the websites page.. All good so far.. Project works a treat, all widgets, cameras, etc.. Ran into an issue of it always popping up asking for Login details which for me is no problem but for random customers accessing such a page i opted to utilise your little trick by placing UN:pW into the IEFrame link.. Works as expected.. Select link to go to that page and bam wiser logins in automatically.. Perfect.. BUT IP cameras dont display.. Checked cameras and made sure authenication is off on the snapshot, etc.. No joy..

Decided to try your trick on the cameras.. And Voila up they come just using admin:admin, but after about 1 minute the wiser freezes up and no longer responsed to GUI.. Change the cameras back and away it goes working a treat..

    Any tricky thoughts? Ideas? Etc?

    Cheers..

    Hi Roosta,

In near Monty Pythonese, I'm not the saviour<synonym>.....I'm just a very naughty boy. :)

Have you tried creating the webpage for the Wiser using an iFrame?

Put something like <iframe src="http://username:[email protected]/clipsal/resources/wiserui.html"></iframe> in the body section of your webpage's HTML.

It should work fine. Just be aware of the security issues as both the U/N and password are there and with the right URL, the outside people have a full router at their disposal think tunnels, WiFi havoc, MAC address spoofing etc. Put it on a DMZ if you can, (after you have it running and tested on the normal LAN that is)

    Regards,

    Brad

ps It funny the forum converts :p automatically to a tongue out . Makes usernameCOLONpassword hard to post

    Hey Brad..

Thanks for the reply.. The iframe is working a treat and has been for weeks.. My only thing that doesnt work is the web cams.. Its got me baffled..

Yer I already considered the security risks associated with it.. Not so much of a concern.. ;-)

    Cheers..

    Hey Roosta,

What cams are you using? There should be a way around having to auth all the time...

Using 2 of the clipsal ip cameras and 2 vivotek ptz ip cameras..

I have gone into them all n made sure auth is off..

I have another avenue to go and checkout tomoz now aswell.. Thinking i might need to reconfig the ports that they are all using..

    Cheers..

    Hi Roosta,

Just set it up on my web server. Works fine with 1 camera using simple URL authentication. Can select full screen mode and choose cam widget in thumbnail and expand it.

I have a similar problem with a D-Link DCS-2310L camera that requires authentication to connect to the jpeg still image.

The Wiser camera widget doesn't seem to accept any sort of authentication.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks
