    Hey,
Any news on an official Wiser app for Android? Getting rather more difficult now the most recent Android versions don't support flash.

Would be good to know how far off one is/if there's a beta available currently etc?

    Thanks

What do you mean the more recent versions of android dont support flash??

I believe while they dont support flash out of the box you can install a app which patches this..

I agree its time for the official android wiser app though.. :)

    Cheers..

Yeah, you can still hunt down and manually install the .apk file for flash but it's not far off being totally killed and only works with limited browser support.

Not long till it won't be possible to use Wiser from the platform with 52% market share at last count unless a native app is released I suspect.

I'm always a little surprised when people throw around the "market share" figures for Android/iPhone when trying to justify things, without considering the demographic.

I'm not for a second suggesting there shouldn't be an Android app for Wiser, but if we're going to talk figures... I'd be really interested to know what the market share of iOS vs Android is in the context of people who are installing C-Bus with a Wiser.

My gut feel would be it's going to be skewed toward iOS rather than Android.

The native Wiser app for Android has been in beta for some time, I believe it should be released soon.

With your new found power you should see if you can install a poll mod for the forum

    Great stuff!

Thank you very much. Great App, and fast as lightning!
    Well done and thank you!

When I initially set it up, I had the wiser off the C-Bus network, and the app then didn't work. A window came up, saying "terminate app".
    Other than that, no issues.
BTW, I am using an HTC Desire HD, just for the record.

    I'm off to play again.....

I haven't seen it, but I take it this means it looks different to the iOS app?

    Wiser Home Controller Android App.

Wiser Android App screen shots from an Android phone are now available on this page: http://www.wiserhomeautomation.com/wiser-android-app.shtml

Full size (unreduced) screen shots from an Android phone are also available on the Wiser Home Automation G+ page, which you can get to using the red and white G+ icon in the top right hand corner of the above page.

    Nice one, thanks!

Works a treat and looking good on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Minor bug to report, when entering the internal wiser ip address it went a bit freaky with text input, started autocorrecting and appending the ip address back onto itself halfway through. (Can send screen shot by email if you let me know where to).

Got round it by copy/pasting the IP in instead.

Will have a further play on tablet etc later.

Hi ariddell, which software keyboard are you using - a stock Galaxy Note 2 keyboard or another one (Swype, etc)?

    Hi ariddell,

sounds to me, like it's got something to do with the keyboard (soft keyboard) configuration or such.
however, a screenshot showing what actually happened will help.

Thanks for making this, Allan told me it was coming but I had given up hope. As I have issues with my iPhone and the thermostat widget, it appears the Android app is plagued with the same issues. Cannot turn on the system, will have to do more testing during daytime.

are you going to be adding it to the play store?

    Thanks for the feedback

We'll look at this issue and try to get a fix back. Please post if you have further info.

Yep, will be going up on play... just want to make sure there are no major issues first. Might see if we can iron out these couple of sticky issues firth tho.

    Cheers
