    Hello!

I have Wiser with the latest firmware v1.25.0. And I'd like to develop for it with Piced v4.10.1, which supports firmware v1.24.0. There are no plans to synchronously update all the c-bus software now, several different projects are in progress. Does this Piced (4.10.1) support "future" wiser's firmware (from 4.11.0)? May I update the wiser's firmware with the previous version?

The software releases are synchronized. So PICED 4.10.1 generates Wiser projects that are compatible with 1.24.0. If you force the use of PICED 4.10.1 with 1.25.0 firmware, the project will be incompatible. PICED 4.11.0 is compatible only with 1.25.0 firmware.

OK, can I downgrade firmware from 1.25.0 to 1.24.0? Any possible issues?

Yes, you can downgrade firmware from 1.25.0 to 1.24.0. To do this, you'd need to use the older PICED, 4.10.0. Then use the web based upgrade to force the downgrade of Wiser firmware to 1.24.0. Then you'd need to transfer the project from 4.10.0 so that the unit has a valid project compatible with the 1.24.0 firmware.

btw, I would not recommend doing this. Any particular reason for wanting to? I'm aware that 1.25.0 has a bug affecting projects with large logic (see post by djaggar) and that is being fixed. I'm not sure of the release schedule for the fix. Are you affected by this bug or is there another reason for wanting to downgrade?

The only reason to downgrade firmware is to make it possible to develop projects with Piced v4.10.1. The complete c-bus development software update (toolkit, c-gate, piced, marpa) is not what I want to do right now. As I said before there are several projects in progerss which were developed with the older versions, and I don't want to switch to all new software.
