I installed a wiser and I didnt change any password.
When I tried to connect through wireless, it is asking for a password.
I tried admin, but it didnt work.

Please please please, installers, please change the password on a Wiser away from the default.

There are systems out there in internet-land which allow discovery of machines on the internet.

When you use it to do a search of Wiser, quite a lot turn up. I didn't actually try logging in to those I found, but if the passwords are not changed then those *may* be vulnerable.

So please change the password as a first line of defence.

    Thanks for the tip Ashleigh..

It would also be lovely to change the default user from 'what it is' to something else to further enhance security on wiser units..

    Cheers..

DEFAULT WISER PASSWORD + ELECTRONIC DOOR STRIKE = EASY ENTRY FOR THIEF

    and probably

= BIG LIABILITY CLAIM AGAINST INSTALLER WHO LEFT IT LIKE THAT

    = :(

    Wiser Newbies-
For further security, may I also recommend that you change the default WAN remote access port away from 8080 (first ensuring your/the client's ISP is not fire-walling non-standard ports) to something else eg 9926,11791 etc, as all the 'IANA standard ports' are a staple attack vector for hackers, initially using port scanning tools to find target hosts.

Also 8080 is quite often your/the client's external internet router's default remote management port in some routers mucking up the port forwarding for an 'Option B' LAN device setup. This port is set in the 'System Utilities - router config section' from your Wiser's GUI Tools icon, then under 'Administration' tab's section 'Remote Access'. Doing this will also probably make the Wiser show up on less of the host search tools Ashleigh mentions.
