Hi Newbie,

Not quite sure what you mean by 'wiser app scheme url'? The Wiser is an automation controller built into a device that looks remarkably like a router.

It is designed to provide a user friendly GUI front end to a Clipsal C-Bus home automation network that can be accessed both locally in the home and remotely over the internet from a multitude of different devices such as a PC (Adobe Flash enabled web browser), iPad, iPhone, Android phone or tablet (via specific native apps on the relevant app store) or even Smart TVs (with embedded flash enabled browser) and some older Smartphones. It is not just a software app.

More details are available here or here

Replacing a Bitwise installation has many facets that need to be considered and catered for, one of which is duplicating the usual infrared IR functions / hardware with a C-Bus NIRT module that must be programmed with the appropriate equipment IR codes.

I don't understand why you would necessarily want to replace one with the other, A Bitwise can make a good independent Media Room or Home Theatre controller and run independently of the C-Bus Wiser, or even front end the C-Bus network using Bitwise implementations (and templates) such as that from Push Controls. However for ease of use and control of a large predominantly C-Bus network both locally and remotely from an iPhone etc, nothing beats the Wiser IMHO.

Regards,

Brad

switching between Apps

hey brad thank you for help..

But i am not replacing anything, i am using them together..
And with the bitwise ipad app you can switch from the bitwise directly to the wiser app by using the url scheme.. is should be something like //wiserhomecontrol or something like that..

Hi Newbie,

Thanks for getting back and explaining what you were talking about.

Try:
http://admin:[email protected]/clipsal/resources/wiserui.html

where admin is your Username, pword is your Password and Wiser's IP is 192.168.x.x.

Should work fine,

Brad

Have you tried Brad's solution yet? I know what you are looking for as we use Push Controls here in Australia. Maybe try "wiser://"

Hi Newbie,

Sorry, my post was the URL to access the Wiser from an HTML browser which is what I thought you were asking for. Clearly that is not what you need.

You are after the Wiser app's URL scheme for IOS to allow inter-app access between Wiser GUI and Bitwise GUI. I get you now.

Just searched the Push Controls TS DB and nothing about a URL scheme for Wiser. Push suggested contacting the app developer for unreleased URL schemes, so that probably means a call to Clipsal TS. I am certain a few TS guys will be on here over the next few days so you will probably get an answer pretty quickly anyway.

Try Robbo's suggestion as it sounds logical and in line with other vendor's schemes, or I'm sure someone else will have the definitive answer for you.

Hi Newbie,

The wiser app isn't currently compiled with a URL scheme.

Thanks Matty. Are there any plans for this in the future? Although it is possible to control Cbus Groups through the Push app via RS232, it would be nice to be able to open Wiser directly from the Push app.

The look on a customers face is great when you are showing them how to use one app and can open another app directly from there. Sonos has finally released a URL scheme for their app.

Thanks

Is anyone able to confirm whether a URL Scheme is going to be implemented with any Wiser Apps? It seems like a fairly simple thing to do and I can't imagine any reasons why Clipsal would not look into it...
