I cant seem to get media director to interface to WMP12 on the touchsceen itself. In PICED it works OK, but on the unit itself it can't find the server, any ideas?

    Cheers

Can you please give some more information about your set-up?

At a guess I think you're saying that you've got a PC with Win7/WMP12 sitting on your network somewhere and you're trying to set up a colour touchscreen to talk to it. From the PC you're programming the C-Touch, PICED successfully talks to WMP12 on the Win7 box but the C-Touch Colour can't find WMP12 after downloading the project to it... I think.

    Newman,
you are 100% on the money.

I can get it to find a WMP11 server on an XP box (when the plug-in is enabled) but not the win7/WMP12 box.

i am not sure if it is a PICED error, or does it have to do with win 7 security being different to XP.

Note: also win 7 is 64 bit, XP is 32 bit.

Just hoping someone had some ideas.

    Thanks

    Grant

I think the plugin is a DLL.

Which means it will be a 32 bit DLL.

32 bit DLL's don't plug into 64 bit native progams.

WMP on your 64 bit machine is very likely a 64 bit native program.

    Hence...

    no workies.

fair enough, but why does work in PICED? it just doesn't work on the CTC.

After spending some time on the weekend trying to figure out why some network connections don't work on vista, I have a suspicion this problem is due to permissions. If a program is 'run as administrator' then all my networking stuff worked just fine. Not sure how this directly applies to the plugin without further investigation but just a thought.

    Regards,
